Kentucky United Delegation Visits Detroit

Greater Owensboro Economic Development Corporation President Nick Brake recently blogged about his trip to Detroit with the Kentucky United delegation. Dr. Brake outlines the significant problems that have plagued Detroit in recent years, including singular reliance upon the automobile industry and the adoption of suburban sprawl development practices. However, despite the problematic aspects of the Detroit economy, its leaders are looking toward diversification and the development of local and regional talent to combat these trends. What does this have to do with entrepreneurship and small businesses in our region? Everything. Our regional leaders have been proactive rather than reactive in growing existing industries and entrepreneurship. Read more about their findings here.
